Electronic Arts Performance Series Fall 1997
The Electronic Arts Performance Series is
presented by the Department of Arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
It is made possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State
Council on the Arts and the Meet the Composer Fund. Meet the Composer Funding
is provided with support from the Edward John Noble Foundation, Inc.
and the New York State Council on the Arts.

Dogs of DesirePerforms Rico Songs and Interludes composed
by Neil Rolnick. lyrics by Larry Beinhart, choreography by Ellen
Sinopoli and direction by David Alan Miller. Cosponsored by the Albaany

History of Computer Art lecture by RPI Alumnus and computer graphics visionary.

Multimedia performance by computer scientist, composer, visual artist and
author, Jaron Lanier. Lanier coined the term Virtual Reality
and founded the VR industry with his first VR company, VPL Research,
Inc. This event will include interactive electronic music and video projection.

Lecture by New York City-based media artist, Reginald Woolery, tracing
his development in electronic media art through experimental video,

Joel Chadabe, Professor of Electronic Music @ SUNY-Albany, presents
a lecture on his new book Electric Sound which is about the
development of electronic musical instruments through the Twentieth
Century, as well as predictions of the future of musical instruments. iEAR

Painter and Arts Department faculty member Caren Canier will exhibit
her recently completed triptych Changes in Scale along with

VocalistThomas Buckner composer Thomas Hamilton present e,
a concert of improvised vocals with a constantly changing electronic

The Dice Tour dice is a Compact Disc compilation of women composer
released on Ishtar Records label. This event will include adventurous
music, websites, and video. dice includes Amy Denio, LaDonna
